WWDC: Silent Apple set to speak
Mon, 10th Jun 2013
FYI, this story is more than a year old

The industry is preparing for WWDC 2013 tomorrow, as an unusually quiet Apple gets set to throw its first product party since last October.

Remaining silent since launching the iPad mini late last year, the Cupertino firm has finished preparations for its annual developer's conference this week, set to take centre stage in San Francisco.

But with the market eagerly awaiting Apple's keynote speech, what should we expect from WWDC 2013?

Nothing unsurprisingly it would seem.

Media speculation regarding a revamped iOS 7 design, a new MacBook Pro and an iRadio launch have been well documented, and it appears the tech press will be spot on.

With a major announcement regarding the next iPhone not expected until later this year, its new software has been tipped to be the major talking point during the conference, labelled as "black, white and flat all over."

And given Google has released its own version of music streaming, named All Access, the pressure is on Apple to produce something similar - if not better.

After securing deals with Sony Music, Warner Music and Universal Music, Apple is well placed to launch an iRadio this week, competing in an ever-growing market.

With a strong record of predicting Apple updates, analyst company KGI Securities expects new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air releases, yet rumours of an iWatch release may be a little premature however.
