XYZ Reality appoints Waleed Zafar as Chief Revenue Officer

Wed, 22nd Oct 2025

XYZ Reality has appointed Waleed Zafar as Chief Revenue Officer as the company targets further global expansion in construction technology.

Zafar, who was the first employee at the company, steps into the executive leadership role after serving as Mission Critical Director. In that position, he led the implementation of XYZ Reality's platform on several complex projects worldwide, focusing on data centre construction delivery.

Global projects

Zafar has overseen the deployment of the company's platform across significant developments, working closely with global developers to improve time-to-market, minimise rework, and ensure precise project delivery. The company reports that its platform is now being used on more than 2.5 gigawatts (GW) of projects throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), the Americas (AMER), and Asia-Pacific (APAC).

One example cited involves a confidential hyperscale data centre developer who benefited from the adoption of the platform, achieving "408 days saved across projects, USD $135 million in measurable savings driven by accelerated revenue from early Ready-for-Service (RFS) dates, reduced operating costs, and rework avoidance" as well as "10x ROI through a repeatable, scalable oversight model that now underpins future portfolio delivery."

Increased focus on revenue and delivery

As Chief Revenue Officer, Zafar will be responsible for aligning revenue and delivery teams to provide measurable value for clients as they expand their project portfolios. The company notes longstanding client partnerships, with many customers expanding from single deployments to global portfolio agreements - a development attributed to the sharing of data and insights across projects to achieve improved outcomes at scale.

"Our platform doesn't just improve individual projects - it transforms entire portfolios. The intelligence we're capturing on site is something no one else in the industry can achieve. We're using that data and insight to help developers make faster, smarter decisions - avoiding delays, reducing risk, meeting revenue recognition targets with confidence, and most importantly, building faster."

These comments from Zafar reflect the company's emphasis on real-time field data and project controls, which it says enable teams to monitor progress and quality, help prevent delays, and facilitate timely delivery of projects.

Leadership and company vision

"Waleed has been at the heart of XYZ Reality from day one. From working out of a shoebox-sized office to deploying our technology on some of the world's most complex mission-critical projects, his leadership and dedication have been constant. He's played a pivotal role in turning our vision into reality - and this next chapter is a testament to his commitment to our clients, our people, and our mission."

David Mitchell, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of XYZ Reality, praised Zafar's ongoing contribution to the company's growth and evolution since its inception. The company's platform is recognised for its use in managing more than USD $14 billion in mission-critical projects, supporting improved quality assurance, risk reduction, and faster revenue generation for developers.

Expansion plans

Zafar's appointment is described as part of a continued investment in leadership and technology that will support XYZ Reality's expansion across North America, EMEA, and APAC.

"It's been an incredible journey building XYZ Reality alongside David and our team. We've gone from an idea to a global technology partner trusted by the world's most advanced infrastructure developers. As CRO, I'm focused on ensuring every client experiences the full value of our platform - helping them build better, faster, and more intelligently than ever before."

XYZ Reality states its approach offers clients faster timelines, lower construction costs, and higher quality results, particularly for mission-critical projects in the data centre sector.
