Westcon-Comstor and VMware are offering the reseller channel the chance to get inside the minds of some of New Zealand's greatest minds with the Kiwi Innovator Series.

The first of the VMware talks, which are designed to entertain and break the norm for technology events, features Southern Spars' Peter Batcheler – the man behind the company that built the America's Cup winning Emirates Team New Zealand yacht.

Team New Zealand claimed the America's Cup for the third time in June, securing a 7-1 victory over Oracle Team USA in the yacht, dubbed the most complex and technologically advanced yacht ever launched in New Zealand.

Resellers will get the inside word on how Batcheler took a simple concept and made it world-beating through creativity and innovative thinking, while gaining an insight into how those skills can be used within the reseller channel.

Aaron Steppat, VMware Australia and New Zealand cloud management specialist,  will continue the innovation story highlighting the ‘unlimited' possibilities of how VMware supports organisations through their digital journey, including how resellers can help deliver innovation faster using automation.

The evening is designed to be lively and engaging, serving up a mix of talks, questions and answer time, videos and interactive opportunities with displays showcasing both VMware and the New Zealand America Cup campaign.

Tuesday night's Auckland event, held at the cloud proved a success, with the Kiwi Innovator Series hitting Christchurch at 6.30pm on Wednesday, at St Andrews College Chapel, before heading to Wellington's The Boatshed on Thursday 14 September.
