Distribution Central expands Australian Xirrus deal
Australia-based technology distributor Distribution Central will begin carrying the Xirrus wireless networking brand throughout Asia-Pacific, including New Zealand, in an expansion of the deal the company has had in its homeland since mid-2011.
Distribution Central has put plenty of work into the brand in that short time, arranging training courses in Xirrus technology through its Red Education subsidiary, and building a customised online configuration tool for the Xirrus product range to ensure quotes are accurate and prevent the user from making errors in the system build.
Wireless is certainly a growth market, as the BYOD trend stretches conventional networks to breaking point.
Sean Larner, VP of international sales at Xirrus, says the deal recognises the ‘tremendous success’ Distribution Central has achieved in Australia in the short time the company has been handling the Xirrus brand.
Indeed, this is the second big tick for the distributor in as many weeks, with WAN optimisation company Riverbed last week naming Distribution Central its ANZ distributor of the year.
