FYI, this story is more than a year old

Enterprise mobile security and data management provider Wandera is launching an assault on the Asia Pacific region, opening a Singapore office and appointing former MobileIron sales director Luke Knowles to head sales in the region.

Wandera is a United Kingdom-based company which uses what it says is a ‘unique' gateway architecture to protect and enable corporate mobility. The company, which also has offices in London, San Francisco, Brno, Athens and Tel Aviv, says it works with more than 500 global enterprises.

A spokesperson says the company has a channel go-to-market strategy, and is already working with Mobilise IT in Australia. It is yet to start working with any partners in New Zealand.

Knowles, whose previous roles include stints as senior manager of positions at Samsung Electronics, Southeast Asia enterprise sales manager for BlackBerry and channel sales manager for Singtel Optus, is charged with with working with regional channel partners, including major telecommunications providers to enable ‘the swift provision of mobile security and data management to leading businesses in the region'.

Ivan Foreman, Wandera APAC vice president of sales, says the opening of the APAC office in Singapore and Knowles' appointment is testament to the momentum the company is seeing internationally and a sign that the enterprise mobile security market is maturing.

The company recently secured $27 million in series C funding, which is earmarked for investment in the growth of the business, expansion to new regions and advancement of its machine learning technology.
