Gallagher Security marks record attendance at Auckland showcase

Thu, 11th Jul 2024

Gallagher Security celebrated a significant milestone with their second annual Security Showcase held on 25 June at Eden Park, Auckland. The event attracted over 300 industry professionals, marking it as the largest-attended event ever hosted by Gallagher globally.

Key technology partners such as Channel Ten, Motorola Solutions, Traka, ASSA ABLOY, Catalyst Cloud, Clear Digital, Geutebruck, Ingram Micro, Eaton, SALTO, and Iview Interactive contributed to the occasion. They provided live demonstrations, enabling end users to witness integrations in action and engage directly with the technology and the channel partners supporting them.

The central theme of the showcase was innovation and partnership, highlighted by a case study presented by Willie Taylor, Director of Security & Emergency Management at Auckland University of Technology (AUT). In addition, Gallagher CEO and Executive Director, Kahl Betham, discussed how Gallagher's success has been built on enduring relationships.

James McKenzie, Sales Manager at Channel Ten, remarked on the importance of driving innovation through partnership, using Taylor's presentation as a prime example. "The highlight today was getting the opportunity to hear Willie from AUT talk about how they're using Milestone in conjunction with Gallagher to support their staff and address issues at the AUT campus," he elaborated.

Attendees frequently cited real-world demonstrations of unlocked benefits and individual conversations about how that value could be replicated as a core reason for attending the event. Lauren Phillips, Technical Director at Traka Oceania, emphasised the importance of these interactions. "We've had a strong relationship with Gallagher for a long time now, so being able to sponsor this event and engage with their end users to show how Traka can help reduce the risks of losing assets and keys is a huge highlight for us in participating," she explained.

Phil Brewer, Business Development Manager at Motorola Solutions, expressed similar sentiments. "The highlight for us was the fact we could do face-to-face meetings with end users, consultants, and system integrators that use the Gallagher products to integrate with the Motorola and Avigilon products," he stated.

The final presentation of the day, which previewed upcoming innovative developments at Gallagher, was especially well-received. Chief Architect Andrew Scothern and Regional Technical Manager for APAC & IMEA, Mike Margrain, showcased new releases and illustrated the potential new solutions could offer customers. Chief Marketing Officer Merv Williams also contributed to the discussion, leaving attendees with a sense of optimism for what lies ahead.

Brad Small, Regional Manager of New Zealand Sales, noted the positive feedback received from attendees. "The feedback I'm hearing is that people walked away feeling genuinely excited for the future. There were so many quality conversations happening between people who might not normally get the chance to connect, like customers chatting with our technology partners and getting hands-on experience with products they've only ever read about. It was incredibly rewarding to witness and to hear that people left with a real sense that quality businesses can come together to produce solutions that go way beyond what anyone dreamed of. The innovation in both product and ideas in that room was palpable," he stated.

Gallagher extended their thanks to all participants, including end users, channel partners, consultants, and especially the technology partners who played a pivotal role in the success of the 2024 Security Showcase.
