Genetec enhances Security Center SaaS with intrusion feature

Today

Genetec has announced the addition of intrusion management to its Security Center Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform.

The enhanced platform now unifies intrusion detection with video surveillance, access control, and identity and visitor management, creating a fully unified, open, cloud-managed solution supported by Genetec's Cloudlink appliances. Initially, the system will support intrusion devices from multiple vendors, with Bosch intrusion panels being the first to be integrated.

The automation of intrusion management aims to reduce human error by eliminating the need for manual processes. Operators can establish automated schedules, enforce badge-based activation, and use first-in, last-out logic to ensure continuous protection of facilities. The integration of intrusion management into business workflows allows organisations to maintain focus on their primary operations while ensuring a secure environment.

Security Center SaaS enables security teams to act swiftly by providing real-time video verification of alarms, thus reducing uncertainty and preventing unnecessary disruptions. Automated workflows facilitate immediate responses by locking doors, activating deterrents, and notifying appropriate personnel through pre-established escalation protocols. This targeted approach helps minimise false alarms and emphasises genuine threats, enhancing security and allowing for faster, more effective response decisions.

The new intrusion management feature also includes proactive security measures such as automated reporting and dynamic alerts. These tools help organisations preemptively identify vulnerabilities through comprehensive event logging that supports compliance and auditing functions, ensuring organisations can address potential threats before they escalate into critical issues.

Adopting an open approach to intrusion panel support, Security Center SaaS not only enhances security but also streamlines operational efficiency. Centralised intrusion event data is accessible via intuitive dashboards, enabling teams to make better-informed decisions quickly. This setup facilitates automated reports that track alarm trends and response times, helping teams derive valuable insights for continuous improvement.

Christian Morin, Vice President of Product Engineering at Genetec, stated, "Security Center SaaS continues to push the boundaries of what's possible. With the introduction of intrusion management, we are delivering on our vision of a fully unified, open, and cloud-managed platform. This empowers organisations to detect, verify, and respond to threats with greater speed and confidence."

The new intrusion management functionality will be globally available in mid-2025 via Genetec's network of accredited channel partners. Built on an open architecture, Security Center SaaS supports Bosch intrusion panels initially, with intentions to expand hardware compatibility through future technology partnerships. This flexible approach allows customers to select suitable hardware or retain their existing systems, offering a cost-effective and adaptive method to modernise their physical security operations.
