Getac unveils ZX10, a truly rugged Android tablet

Getac has launched its next generation ZX10 10-inch fully rugged Android tablet, touted as the lightest of its kind available on the market. Aimed at professionals in industries such as public safety, utilities, and transportation, the ZX10 is designed to meet the demands of challenging work environments.

The ZX10 features impressive specifications, including a Qualcomm QCS6490 processor and neural processor unit, which are tailored to support advanced AI capabilities. The device ensures enhanced performance even at reduced power levels. Additionally, the ZX10 includes 8GB LPDDR5 memory and up to 256GB universal flash storage, facilitating fast data transfer and the ability to run multiple applications smoothly. An upgraded 1,000 nits LumiBond screen with sunlight readable technology allows for efficient operation in various weather conditions, and users can opt for an active digitiser with stylus for precise note-taking even in heavy rain or cold temperatures.

Designed with versatile connectivity options, the ZX10 includes dual SIM technology for optimal network coverage and Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and optional dedicated GPS for rapid data transfer and accurate location positioning. For users with further needs, configurations with 4G LTE and 5G Sub-6, NFC, and a barcode reader are available. The hot-swappable dual-battery design permits uninterrupted operation across entire shifts, with options for single or extended battery life depending on usage.

Despite its rugged build, the ZX10 weighs just 906 grams. The tablet meets MIL-STD-810H certification for durability, IP66 certification for dust and water resistance, and can endure drops from up to six feet. It operates within a wide temperature range of -29°C to 63°C, making it suitable for extreme conditions.

The tablet operates on Android 13 and is verified as an Android enterprise recommended rugged device, ensuring compliance with Google's rigorous testing. This guarantees security updates every 90 days for five years, alongside regular feature enhancements. Getac pledges to support a minimum of three Android OS versions per product generation, offering longevity and adaptability.

The ZX10 is also compatible with Getac's Essentials Suite, a collection of software solutions aiming to improve productivity and operational efficiency with apps like Getac Management and Driving Safety set for release in April 2025.
