MSI unveils RTX 50 series laptops with Norse mythology flair

MSI has introduced its new RTX 50 series laptops, drawing inspiration from Norse mythology's Yggdrasil.

Steven Yang, MSI Notebook Regional Sales & Marketing Manager, explained the inspiration behind the new range, stating, "Much like the mythic World Tree that connects the nine realms, our new laptops are designed to meet diverse user expectations—from immersive gaming to high-end professional work."

The Titan Series, termed "Legendary Power and Precision", includes the Titan 18 HX Dragon Edition Norse Myth. This laptop boasts a unique hand-painted dragon design. It is equipped with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series graphics, an Intel Core Ultra 200HX processor, and boasts a significant power supply with a 400W adapter. Offering four SSD slots and supporting SuperRAID 5, the Titan model is set for high-speed SSD read capabilities of up to 18,000 MB/s, supported by an advanced vapor chamber cooling system.

Focused on gamers, the Raider Series emphasises the "The Ultimate Gaming Experience". These models come with options for AMD Ryzen 9000 or Intel Core Ultra 200HX processors, paired with RTX 50 graphics. Key features include support for DDR5 6400 memory and a 4K/120Hz Mini LED display, alongside a sophisticated dual-fan and seven-heat-pipe cooling arrangement.

The Stealth Series, prioritising portability without losing power, features a lightweight magnesium-aluminium design. Inside, users will find RTX 50 graphics and processors from either AMD Ryzen AI 300 or Intel Core Ultra 200H. The series also incorporates comprehensive connectivity features, from RGB keyboards to I/O ports.

Designed for STEM and professional tasks, the Vector Series aims to optimise high-demand computing activities. This series, featuring RTX 50 GPUs and processors from Intel or AMD, comes with a unique SSD cooling module for consistent performance during prolonged use. It also includes Thunderbolt 5 connectivity.

The Venture and VenturePro Series aim at the business and productivity sectors, providing options with Intel or AMD processors, OLED touchscreen displays, and robust batteries. The design also integrates an AI Engine to streamline power, display, and sound configurations, aiming to increase productivity.

Experts from various industries have expressed their approval of MSI's RTX 50 series, highlighting its capabilities in AI, 3D content creation, game development, and gaming performance. Dr. Min-Chun Hu, Technical Consultant at AI Startup NeuinX, remarked, "For AI model training, sustained performance is just as crucial as raw power. The MSI Titan 18 delivers both, offering outstanding stability during long hours of high-load training without overheating. It's an ideal choice for AI professionals and companies requiring consistent high-performance computing."

Vladimir Petkovic, Senior Creative 3D Evangelist at Adobe, commended the Vector HX AI, stating, "Working with graphically demanding software like Substance 3D requires cutting-edge hardware. The MSI Vector HX AI not only provides real-time responsiveness but also offers excellent expandability for memory and storage, making it a high-end portable workstation for creative professionals."

For game developers, Emiel Sleegers, CEO of FastTrack Studio, mentioned, "Creating high-quality 3D assets in Unreal Engine 5, 3ds Max, and ZBrush demands robust hardware. The MSI Vector 16 delivers exceptional stability for rendering and texturing, allowing seamless work efficiency—even on the go."

Additionally, Evgen Skachkov, Producer of Assassin's Creed at Ubisoft, highlighted the Stealth 18's capabilities during game development, stating, "Developing massive open-world games like Assassin's Creed requires powerful and reliable hardware. The MSI Stealth 18 delivers desktop-level power in a slim form factor, ensuring stable performance even during extended debugging and computation."

In the context of gaming performance, Mark Chen, AVP of MSI Laptop Product Department & Former Pro Gamer, noted, "With up to 260W of combined CPU/GPU power, the MSI Raider 18 maximizes performance for competitive gaming. Its dual-fan, seven-heat-pipe cooling system ensures smooth, lag-free gameplay, making it a top choice for serious gamers."

In addition to the hardware advancements, MSI is promoting new AI functionalities. This includes an AI Robot offering intuitive control over laptop operations. The company continues its association with NVIDIA, providing laptops capable of ray tracing and utilising AI-enhanced DLSS 4, aiming for enhanced visual quality and faster performance."
