Oracle opens data centre to meet demand
Oracle has responded to regional customer demand for cloud based services, opening a second data center in Australia.
The company says the facility provides additional Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) for customers, including access to platform services and Oracle Fusion appliances.
“Cloud computing is transforming the way Australian organisations approach IT by providing an alternative delivery that supports agility and innovation," says Ian White, regional managing director and senior vice president, Oracle ANZ.
"Oracle Australia’s second data center demonstrates Oracle’s ongoing commitment to offering cloud solutions to our customers.
"The centre will help customers to continue to meet Government regulatory requirements and help to ensure sovereignty of sensitive data,“
Oracle says the data center will be housed at Equinix but managed by their own staff.
