Oxygen IT says it has seen over 1000 enquiries from the Zimbra website and signed up new resellers for the Zimbra email system.

“When it comes to email collaboration suites it is often hard to beat Microsoft's Exchange system, particularly if you have SBS bundled with your server,” the firm said in a short update. “However when you need to link rich internet-based applications to an email application suite, there is a clear choice of winner that will enable you achieve this and that is Zimbra.”

Oxygen IT adds that through the use of the Zimbra API, businesses in New Zealand can easily tailor their company CMS or a third party's CMS (such as Salesforce) into the email application. “Linking all the data that a business has is truly the next step in the evolution of email,” it says.

“We resell Zimbra to other technology companies and since 2007 we have attracted over 1000 enquiries from the zimbra.com website,” the company continued. “We have a number of New Zealand IT firms as resellers and we recently welcomed Computerworx from Tauranga who has signed a deal to begin migrating 120 accounts on to our cloud platform.

“We feel that the recent acquisition of Zimbra by VMWare will add significant weight to support here in New Zealand.”

Back in August Oxygen IT signed deals with some 30 IT resellers to run certain clients through its hosted cloud solutions.
