Rimini Street appoints Joe Locandro as executive Vice President

Rimini Street has appointed Joe Locandro as executive vice president and chief information officer.

Locandro, who is based in Melbourne, will be responsible for leading Rimini Street's global IT operations, shaping the enterprise systems strategy and overseeing technology innovation initiatives to support the company's growth and client outcomes.

He brings over 25 years of experience with international leadership roles across sectors such as energy, aviation, utilities, construction and entertainment. Before joining Rimini Street, Locandro served as chief information officer at Fletcher Building, a major construction and infrastructure company and one of the largest companies listed in New Zealand.

Prior to his tenure at Fletcher Building, Locandro held technology and transformation leadership positions at BP, Cathay Pacific, CLP, Emirates, Energy Australia and Village Roadshow, accumulating wide-ranging experience in global operations.

Having previously been a client of Rimini Street, Locandro pointed to this experience as an influence on his decision to join the company. Seth Ravin, chief executive officer and chairman of Rimini Street's board, commented on the appointment, stating: "Joe's leadership will play a pivotal role in enhancing our global IT systems, infrastructure and cybersecurity operations as we continue scaling our platform to support many more thousands of clients worldwide. His deep expertise and pragmatic approach to transformation make him an ideal fit for Rimini Street."

Locandro emphasised the importance of operational agility in his approach. "Flexibility is a winning strategy," said Locandro.

Locandro holds a bachelor's degree in economics and commerce from the University of Melbourne and a graduate diploma in marketing from Monash University. He has completed executive studies at Stanford University's Graduate School of Business, with a focus on strategic technology leadership. His experience also includes service on the board of SITA (Société Internationale de Télécommunications Aéronautiques) and membership with the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

In his new role, Locandro will be based in Rimini Street's APAC region and will report directly to CEO Seth Ravin.

The company states that with Locandro's appointment, it aims to further enhance its ability to deliver resilient IT solutions aligned to the evolving needs of its global client base.
