Serko appoints Simon Young as new Chief Technology Officer
Serko has announced the appointment of Simon Young as its new Chief Technology Officer. Young, who joined the company in 2023 as Vice President of Engineering, brings over 20 years of experience from both local and international technology firms.
Young's career includes executive leadership roles such as Chief Product & Technology Officer at Trade Me and Vice President of Engineering at Halter. He has been fulfilling the responsibilities of Chief Technology Officer on an interim basis since April this year.
Darrin Grafton, Serko's Co-Founder and CEO, expressed confidence in Simon Young's ability to lead the company's technological initiatives. Grafton stated, "Simon's extensive experience and expertise make him the ideal person to lead and deliver our technology strategy to support Serko's ambitions. He has made an impressive impact at Serko since joining in 2023 and during the period he has been acting in the role." Grafton emphasized that Young will be instrumental in fostering innovation, enhancing product development through the adoption of new technologies, and optimizing technology infrastructure to align with the changing needs of Serko's clients and partners.
