Shure expands Microflex range with new speakers, amplifier

Yesterday

Shure has expanded its Microflex Ecosystem portfolio, introducing new passive loudspeakers and a networked amplifier designed for conference rooms.

The updated Microflex (MX) Loudspeaker range now includes four types of passive speakers—ceiling—and wall-mounted—and a networked conferencing amplifier. These new additions complement Shure's existing networked loudspeaker, the MXN5W-C. The combined solution offers AV professionals and IT managers a complete package encompassing microphones, digital signal processing (DSP), and loudspeakers.

Nalle Magnusson, Senior Manager of Product Management at Shure, commented, "AV professionals and IT managers need solutions that make their workflows much easier: from choosing the right technology to simplified system support. Our new lineup of four passive speakers and networked amplifier offers options that cater to their specific needs and overall system compatibility. They can experience the award-winning audio quality of the Microflex Ecosystem, and benefit from comprehensive support from a single manufacturer."

The Microflex Loudspeakers are engineered to interoperate with other devices within the Microflex Ecosystem. They are secured by standards-based protocols like 802.1x and AES encryption, allowing them to easily integrate into existing networks with similar security measures. Thus, they streamline AV system workflows.

The new portfolio includes a PoE+ Networked Amplifier, designed to enhance speech and audio reproduction in meeting rooms. This amplifier supports Microflex Ecosystem microphones, DSP, and loudspeakers to provide a comprehensive audio solution. It features Dante inputs and outputs, an analogue stereo input, and customisable EQ settings, including presets specifically for the passive MX loudspeakers. It can be mounted in various configurations to suit different room designs.

Among the new offerings is the MXP Passive Loudspeakers line. The Mini Pendant Passive (MXP-1) Loudspeaker is noted for its sleek and compact design, ideal for open architecture or wood slat ceilings. It features a Balanced Mode Radiator (BMR) driver for wide dispersion, ensuring consistent sound across spaces.

The Wall Mount Passive (MXP-3) Loudspeaker boasts a slim profile suitable for wall or ceiling mounting. It provides enhanced stereo audio with full-fidelity reproduction.

The Ceiling-Mount Passive (MXP-5) Loudspeaker is designed for shallow-space installations, making it particularly useful for retrofit applications. When paired with the MXN-AMP, it can support up to eight MXP-5 units in 70V mode.

The Pendant Passive (MXP-6) Loudspeaker is tailored for open ceiling spaces. Its dual-driver architecture ensures tonal consistency. When used in 70V mode, it accommodates multiple units in larger rooms, like the MXP-5.

Shure enables customers to integrate the MX Loudspeakers with its Designer 6 software for installation configuration and commissioning. Additionally, remote management is facilitated through ShureCloud, the company's cloud-enabled centralised management platform.
