The global software-defined data centre (SDDC) market was valued at close to US$1.3 billion in 2015. The market for SDDC looks promising and many enterprises are expected to adopt the concept on a large scale.
SDDC provides infrastructure to manage, control, and automate data centres. The fundamental principle of SSDC is to automate data centres through software and allocate resources to data centres through a centralised software-defined system. In these data centres, servers and storage resources are configured by a centralised system.
To tap this lucrative market, vendors also offer virtualisation services, which enables customisation of data centres to configure storage and networking resources according to user requirements, even when the server location is shifted.

Network programming is the fundamental principle that software defined networks (SDNs) follow. SDN architecture is based on advanced networking structure that separates data planes and controls.
