Symantec’s NZ cloud
Datastor has signed on as the first New Zealand authorised distributor for Symantec.cloud solutions, enabling the distributor to provide cloud-based security and archiving solutions to resellers throughout the country. Both companies say they are committed to collaborating with partners to offer services that meet the needs of their customers and help expand their businesses in the rapidly growing software as a service (SaaS) market. Symantec says the growing SaaS market is transforming how customers choose to address security, IT and information challenges and creating new opportunities for partners to generate recurring revenue streams and gain insight into customer operations through the management of their IT environments. Nigel Mendonca, director, channels, Symantec.cloud, Asia Pacific and Japan, says Symantec is continuing to grow and expand its portfolio of SaaS services by bringing more of Symantec's technologies to the cloud to offer customers flexibility of choice and increased service manageability. He says the company relies on its partners to deliver high-value solutions to protect and manage customers' critical information. "We have a long standing and very successful relationship with Datastor and this agreement will enable both companies to build, strengthen and leverage their respective partner bases." Dave Rosenberg, Datastor managing director, says cloud services will become an important part of the future of the channel.
