Westcon Australia adds some kiwi flavour

09 Oct 2014

Westcon Group NZ's David Hook has taken on the job of sales director for the distributor's Australian operations.

Hook, who takes up the role of sales director at Westcon Group Australia in November, has been with Westcon Group NZ for six years in various sales positions, including the last two as New Zealand general manager of sales.

The distributor says in his time leading the sales team, Hook demonstrated a strong track record in delivering overall sales success and has made an 'outstanding' contribution to the leadership team in New Zealand, which will be of benefit to the leadership of the business in Australia.

Mark Baker, Westcon Group NZ sales and marketing director, says Hook's appointment will strengthen Westcon Group's plans for the future, helping deliver the groups sales priorities and strong results. "The fact that Westcon Group offers opportunities like this to retain expertise and build out ANZ through sharing of resource is testimony to the investment it makes in it's people and the high level of collaborative opportunities within the business."

The company says Hook has demonstrated 'a high level of experience in sales, sales management and general business management' while at Westcon Group NZ.

Hook will be based in Sydney in his new role.

A new New Zealand general manager of sales is expected to be appointed soon.
