ControlUp enhances Edge DX to optimise digital employee experience

Mon, 29th Apr 2024

ControlUp is at the forefront of Digital Employee Experience (DEX) management and has announced enhancements to ControlUp Edge DX, its unique solution designed to reduce IT support costs for physical desktops by identifying and preventing problems typically undetectable by standard device management software. The updated system offers advanced employee dashboards and scoring, employee sentiment extensions, and a GenAI-based chatbot to streamline the process of identifying and rectifying issues by IT staff of all experience levels.

Simon Townsend, Field CTO at ControlUp, emphasised the significance of these enhancements: "Today's IT leaders need to be able to get off of the 'break-fix treadmill' so they can focus on the strategic, mission-critical initiatives that deliver greater business value." Townsend added, "They also need to look beyond device performance metrics to truly see employee sentiment and engagement data to humanise the computing experience. With enhancements to ControlUp Edge DX, we offer IT a unified workflow optimisation to make IT more human-centric, autonomous, and proactive."

Employee engagement has been shown to correlate directly with the perceived value of their workplace technology. Forrester's Future of Work Survey, 2023 found that employees are twice as likely to be engaged when they have easy access to the necessary tools for their job and feel supported by their service desk. They are also twice as likely to report satisfaction when their collaboration tools are effective.

The latest iteration of ControlUp Edge DX, released earlier in April, empowers strategic IT organisations in several key areas. Firstly, Advanced Employee Experience Dashboards and Scoring enable IT administrators to identify which devices or apps are causing issues and understand the end user's experience. Secondly, Enhanced Employee Sentiment Surveys provide IT teams the ability to look beyond performance metrics into data that drives employee engagement. Lastly, a featured GenAI-Powered Chatbot delivers intuitive responses based on conversational context, enabling IT teams of varying expertise levels to gain insights into devices, unified communication, collaboration and installed applications with simple natural-language searches.

In addition to the improvements listed above, ControlUp also introduces a Cost Saving Dashboard. This feature quantifies the value of DEX initiatives by delivering insights into automations, remediation, and remote assistance sessions for physical endpoints, VDI, and DaaS, demonstrating time savings and IT labour costs for end user projects.

The latest iteration of ControlUp's Edge DX solution with its newly enhanced features was released earlier this month. Its mission to optimise and humanise the digital employee experience represents a real advancement in the field of IT management, the company states.
