Google enhances AI adoption with new Agentspace features

Google has announced new features for its Agentspace product, aimed at facilitating the adoption and creation of AI agents in enterprises.

Raj Pai, Vice President of Product Management, Cloud AI, explained that AI agents are a significant advancement over traditional automation methods or chatbots. These agents are capable of executing complex workflows such as planning and researching, as well as generating and testing novel ideas. For businesses to scale effectively, an AI-ready information ecosystem, streamlined agent creation and adoption processes, and enterprise-grade security and compliance are necessary.

Agentspace, launched previously, integrates the latest Google foundation models with employee capabilities to access actionable enterprise knowledge. With it, employees can source information across their organisation, synthesize it through Gemini's multimodal intelligence, and take action using AI agents.

Since its introduction, major organisations including Banco BV, Cohesity, Gordon Food Services, KPMG, Rubrik, and Wells Fargo have shown great interest in Agentspace. Google is now enhancing the product's reach by enabling easier creation and adoption of agents. Customers are now able to access Agentspace's capabilities through the search box in Chrome. Additionally, the 'Agent Gallery' allows for quick discovery and adoption of available agents, while the new 'Agent Designer' offers a no-code solution for creating agents aligned with specific workflows.

In a statement from Gordon Food Service, Matt Jansen, Manager of Emerging Technology, shared insights on the company's implementation of Google Agentspace. "We recently began our roll out of Google Agentspace to US employees at Gordon Food Service, with the goal of empowering them with greater access to our enterprise intelligence. This implementation has already started to transform how we access enterprise knowledge, wherever it is, as our searches are now grounded in our data across Google Workspace and other sources like ServiceNow. Employees are benefitting from easier access because they can search across multiple systems in one place, which translates to better decision-making, and less legwork to discover information. Ultimately, Agentspace will enhance both our internal operations and product development, enabling us to serve our customers better."

The integration with Chrome Enterprise allows employees to use Agentspace's unified search capabilities directly from the Chrome search box, aiding them in securely finding information within their workflows.

Agentspace also simplifies agent adoption and creation. The Agent Gallery provides a single view of available agents and the Agent Designer allows users with limited technical experience to create agents for their specific needs using a no-code interface.

Furthermore, Google has introduced two new expert agents, the Idea Generation agent and the Deep Research agent. The Deep Research agent, generally available, synthesizes complex information into comprehensive reports. The Idea Generation agent is in preview and assists employees in developing and evaluating novel ideas.

Agentspace supports the new open Agent2Agent (A2A) Protocol, allowing communication between agents across various ecosystems, thus fostering multi-agent communication. Google, as the first hyperscaler to support this initiative, emphasises its significance in enabling developers to use preferred tools and frameworks.

Enterprise-grade security remains a priority, with Agentspace being built on Google's secure infrastructure. It provides features such as scanning systems for sensitive data, role-based access controls, and encryption, ensuring security and compliance.

The AI Agent Marketplace within Google Cloud Marketplace expands, enabling enterprises to browse and purchase AI agents from partners. This addition further complements the suite of tools available within Agentspace for productivity and innovation.
