FYI, this story is more than a year old

This year Cisco is putting all its cards on the table, entering three teams in the race, which will see 24 of the company’s 28 staff take part. A driving force behind Cisco’s challenge is channel manager Jen Rutherford who is now onto her third race.“It’s actually getting easier; I can now go for a run and enjoy it. Aside from the personal challenge the biggest worry is how the team is going to work together because, if it all goes horribly wrong on the day of the race, you still all have to be back at work on Monday,” she says. Rutherford says the event is incredibly tough but points out that the physical pain is nothing compared to the pain faced by children with life-threatening illnesses. “It’s a charity that touches my heart. I’m not a research scientist or a doctor so I can’t make a difference in that respect, but I can help by raising awareness and funds.”
