Neat launches BYOD feature for flexibility in collaboration

Today

Neat has announced the introduction of Neat Select, a new Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) feature for its Neat Bar and Neat Bar 2, designed to enhance video collaboration flexibility for businesses.

Neat Select is intended to offer organisations an improved choice of video meeting solutions and increased control over the platforms they choose to use. This new solution allows for seamless integration across various collaboration platforms.

Speaking on the company's focus, Tormod Ree, Chief Product and Engineering Officer at Neat, stated, "Neat has focused on delivering simple solutions for complex meeting space challenges from the start, and we strive to maximize the value of our devices by solving customers' ever-evolving meeting space needs."

Neat Select will allow Neat Bar and Neat Bar 2 to be used as centrally manageable BYOD devices, catering to video collaboration platforms and business applications of a user's choice. The devices will enable users to tackle interoperability obstacles and switch effortlessly between different platforms.

The introduction of Neat Select addresses a common issue experienced by companies with diverse teams or clients, where a singular collaboration platform does not suffice. By using this solution, organisations can utilise the platform most suited to their needs without being locked into a singular system.

IT departments are likely to find Neat Select advantageous, as it can be centrally managed using Neat Pulse, the company's management and support service. Neat Pulse provides IT departments with much-needed visibility into space utilisation and enables remote control to facilitate a consistent user experience. Real-time data on utilisation and workspace environment is available, aiding in greater deployment visibility.

For businesses looking for a straightforward and efficient video conferencing solution, Neat Bar and Neat Bar 2 paired with Neat Select might be of interest. The devices were designed for small to medium spaces and offer high-quality audio and video. They connect easily to PCs via HDMI and USB-C, allowing customers to join the video platform of their preference.

Commenting further, Tormod Ree added, "We are excited to deliver Neat Select to support BYOD use cases, providing customers with exceptional video collaboration experiences plus the flexibility they need for today's diverse workplaces."

The Neat Select feature will become available for both Neat Bar and Neat Bar 2 in the first half of 2025, offering businesses an alternative solution to their video conferencing needs.
