Netpoleon, Abnormal partnership to plug gaps in email defence
Value-added distributor Netpoleon has this week announced a partnership with leading cloud-native email security provider, Abnormal Security.
The alliance gives Netpoleon's channel partners access to a security platform that leverages AI-based behavioural data science to stop socially-engineered and never-seen-before email attacks that evade traditional secure email gateways (SEGs).
"Netpoleon were our choice of distributor due to trusted existing relationships and market standing," says Tim Bentley, Australia and New Zealand country manager for Abnormal Security.
"They have brokered multiple partner introductions that have paid dividends already."
Bentley, who has led email security in Australia for 20 years, bringing MessageLabs and Proofpoint to the region, adds, "Abnormal Security leads the new wave of email security.
"Australian users are challenged daily with threats that actually should not reach their inbox," he says.
"Traditional SEGs now struggle to routinely stop credential phishing and fraud.
"This is why Microsoft have taken the unprecedented step of endorsing Abnormal Security we deliver safer and greater consumption of O365," Bentley says.
"It is also why Gartner predicts that SEG use will decline while platforms like O365 and Google will be bolstered instead with an API based approach."
Paul Lim, regional director of Australia and New Zealand at Netpoleon, says, "We look forward to working with Abnormal Security, whose advanced solutions are sure to make a big impact on our customers."
Secure email gateways and built-in security within Microsoft and Google struggle to block socially-engineered attacks that pass reputation checks, have no links or attachments, and appear to come from trusted sources.
Abnormal profiles known good behaviour and analyses more than 45,000 signals to detect anomalies that deviate from these baselines. Only Abnormal precisely blocks all socially-engineered and unwanted emails - both internal and external - and detects and remediates compromised accounts.
Abnormal Security provides a leading cloud-native email security platform that leverages AI-based behavioural data science to stop socially-engineered and never-seen-before email attacks that evade traditional secure email gateways (SEGs).
Abnormal delivers a fundamentally different approach that precisely detects and protects against the widest range of attacks including phishing, malware, ransomware, social engineering, spam and greymail, supply chain compromise, and internal account compromise.
The Abnormal platform delivers inbound email security, internal and external account takeover protection, and full SOC automation. Abnormals API-based approach enables customers to get up and running in 15 minutes and can augment a SEG or be used standalone to enhance native Microsoft security protection. Abnormal Security is based in San Francisco, CA.
