Rohit Ghai named Chief Executive Officer as Barracuda enters new era
Barracuda has announced the appointment of Rohit Ghai as Chief Executive Officer, following the departure of Hatem Naguib from the role.
Leadership change
Rohit Ghai will lead Barracuda into its next phase of expansion, succeeding Hatem Naguib, who steps down after a tenure marked by substantial growth. Ghai joins the company with over twenty years of executive experience, having previously held leadership positions at RSA, EMC, Symantec, and CA Technologies.
Naguib has served as Chief Executive Officer since 2021, and before that held the roles of Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President and General Manager of Barracuda's security business unit. Under his leadership, Barracuda achieved milestones such as the launch of the BarracudaONE AI-powered cybersecurity platform and the strategic expansion of its product portfolio. These initiatives contributed to record-breaking revenue and profitability, as well as enhanced engagement with partners and customers.
Ghai's appointment
The board's decision to appoint Ghai signals a new phase for Barracuda. With a reputation for strategic guidance and expertise in cybersecurity and software-as-a-service technology, Ghai has led operational scaling and growth in his previous roles.

In addition to his new responsibilities as Chief Executive Officer, Ghai will also join Barracuda's board of directors. He continues to serve on the boards of Pegasystems, D-Wave Systems, and MHC Software, as well as having previous board experience at Everbridge.
Naguib's legacy
Naguib stated he is pleased with the progress made under his leadership and expressed support for Ghai as his successor.
