Samsung Electronics has announced the introduction of Gemini Live, a new AI experience enabling real-time visual conversations, for its Galaxy S25 series.
The Gemini Live feature will be accessible to Galaxy S25 series users through a free software update. This update allows users to engage in conversational interactions with AI, aiming to simplify various everyday tasks.
Users can activate Gemini Live by pressing and holding the side button, enabling the AI to see through the user's camera and interact simultaneously. The functionality is particularly useful in situations such as selecting outfits or organising household items, as the AI provides suggestions for categorising and arranging items efficiently. Additionally, users can share their screen while shopping online to receive personalised shopping advice.
Jay Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Experience Office, Mobile Experience Business at Samsung Electronics, commented on the collaboration with Google, stating, "Together with Google, we are marking a bold step toward the future of mobile AI, delivering smarter interactions that are deeply in sync with how we live, work and communicate." He further added, "With this new visual capability, Galaxy S25 series brings next-generation AI experiences to life, setting new standards for how users engage with the world through their devices."
The Gemini Live feature with camera and screen sharing capabilities has started rolling out to all Galaxy S25 series users at no extra cost. This initiative is part of Samsung's broader strategy to augment everyday interaction with mobile devices, utilising the latest artificial intelligence technologies.
