Synnex New Zealand is gearing up for a big year, with new agencies, a re-racked warehouse and a tenth birthday to celebrate.
The distributor, which celebrates 10 years in New Zealand in September, has signed several new vendors in the past few months, including FSP and wireless peripheral technology specialist Rapoo.
FSP is a leading global manufacturer of power supplies.
Richard Harri, Synnex New Zealand country manager, teases that 'there are a few other agencies just waiting for the ink to dry'.
In November the company made 'considerable' investments in its Auckland logistics centre to realize the additional capacity needed to support the continued expansion of the local business.
"In order to continue to support our growing business, we implemented a complete re-rack of our warehouse," Harri says.
"The new racking stands at 10 metres in height and the entire central part of the warehouse, previously used for floor storage of bulk pallets, has also been racked up to 10 metres.
"The net effect is around an additional 40% capacity.
The distributor now has 60 staff, with roughly half of the team focused on logistics, 'backing up the sales and marketing team such that the company can deliver on promises and make the customers expectation their reality'.
Two additional staff were brought on in Wellington last year to better service the lower North Island, Harri adds.
He has previously noted that the faster an order can be processed, the later a customer can place an order and still receive the shipment overnight, the more cost effective the freight charge and the absolute accuracy when processing orders, all lead to an additional competitive advantage for Synnex resellers.
For Synnex, that focus appears to be paying off. The company achieved a new record year financially in 2014.
"We realised once again, double-digit growth year-on-year and have sustained a compound annual growth rate of 40% since inception in New Zealand almost 10 years ago.
Harri says 2015, is 'clearly a huge milestone' for the distributor. And Harri plans to celebrate in style, though full details of the celebrations have yet to be revealed.
However, Harri is promising more of the experiential rewards for resellers that the company has become known for over the year. Several 'awesome' promotions are expected to be announced soon.
As to the goal for 2015, Harri is clear: "Synnex will continue to stick to its knitting and get on with getting the job done. And the experiential rewards for our customers will be unparalleled!
