Cloudland and TMG join forces to enhance IT services in Australasia
Mon, 11th Dec 2023

Leading IT platform and managed service providers Cloudland and TMG have forged a partnership through a merger, aiming to boost primary healthcare and small and mid-sized enterprise (SME) markets in Australia and New Zealand. Despite the merger, both brands pledge to retain their recognisable monikers, with plans to enhance their services largely within the healthcare and professional sectors.

John Calland, Chief Executive Officer of Cloudland, suggests that the merger reflects a compatible alignment with his organisation's objectives: "Joining forces with TMG aligns with our mission to deliver unparalleled IT solutions. TMG's impressive track record within the primary healthcare market complements our strengths, ensuring our clients benefit from an even wider spectrum of expertise." Calland goes on to anticipate that customers and partners can look forward to an enriched service offering and shared expertise, upholding both firms' reputation for exceptional quality.

For TMG, Andre Ducrot, Chief Executive Officer, perceives the amalgamation as a natural progression: "Together, TMG and Cloudland will be in a position to offer a wider range of services to our primary healthcare customers and even better regional coverage across New Zealand. We have a lot of similarities, including our comparable size, strong local community roots, and shareholders with considerable experience working in the primary healthcare sector. The two companies will complement one another well, and our customers will benefit as a result."

The merger instates Ducrot and the existing Cloudland directors as shareholders in the newly formed entity, TMG Cloudland Group Limited. Indeed, Tauranga-based investment group Oriens Capital has been inducted as a shareholder. Oriens partner, James Beale, who spearheaded their participation in the merger, expressed his belief in the promising impact the merger will have on both companies and clients alike: "We were inspired by the vision from the leaders of TMG and Cloudland, along with the high-performance cultures they've fostered. The merged business will be the market leader in the NZ primary healthcare platform market, with the best regional coverage by far to service existing and new clients. We see exciting prospects for continued growth in the healthcare and professional services IT markets."

Waikato-based provider of disability support services, Community Living Trust (a Cloudland shareholder), will continue its involvement as a shareholder within the merged entity. The Trust's CEO, David Oldershaw indicates that the organisation is eager for the opportunities the merger might bring: "Our partnership as a shareholder and customer of Cloudland over the past year has already seen our organisation make significant advancements with our technology strategy. We look forward to further gains from Cloudland joining forces with TMG."

Furthermore, both Cloudland and TMG plan to maintain their current regional office locations in Hamilton, Whangarei, and Christchurch.
