Commvault partners with Cybermindz to support mental health
Commvault has announced a partnership with Cybermindz.org to combat mental health challenges facing cybersecurity professionals in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).
New research indicates that cybersecurity professionals in ANZ experience burnout and poor sleep quality at rates surpassing those of frontline healthcare workers. In response, Commvault is collaborating with Cybermindz.org, a not-for-profit organisation, to launch initiatives aimed at addressing these issues starting in 2025.
The partnership highlights Commvault's dedication to ensuring the welfare of individuals tasked with protecting against cyber threats, extending beyond data protection to focus on mental health support. Cybermindz.org utilises neuroscience-based programmes, which have been effective in military settings, to alleviate burnout, lower stress, and enhance long-term resilience. On average, these methods have been found to reduce stress levels by 27.3%, offering practical strategies for cybersecurity teams operating in high-pressure environments.
Peter Coroneos, Founder of Cybermindz.org, stated, "Cybersecurity professionals are the unsung heroes of our digital age, and they face immense pressure, often at a personal cost. Through this partnership with Commvault, we aim to empower them to reclaim balance and resilience, ensuring they thrive in protecting our digital world."
The key initiatives of the partnership include exclusive workshops aimed at empowering Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs), providing training to 25 top security leaders in Sydney to enhance resilience. In addition, Commvault customers in ANZ will have complimentary access to BaseCamp, which offers practical tools for effective stress management. A resilience toolkit, which is a co-branded digital guide featuring actionable strategies for cybersecurity teams, will also be made available. To encourage wider adoption, a 15% discount on Cybermindz.org training programmes will be offered.
Craig Bastow, Vice President for Australia and New Zealand at Commvault, remarked, "We know Cybersecurity professionals are the backbone of our digital security, yet their mental health often takes a backseat. With the Australian Home Affairs Ministry recognising the need for greater support, we're proud to partner with Cybermindz.org to make a tangible difference – providing these dedicated individuals with the care and support they truly deserve."
