Distribution Central looks long-term with Fujitsu deal

FYI, this story is more than a year old

Distribution Central will be expanding its DC PODs (products on demand) offerings on the back of a distribution deal with Fujitsu.

The distributor has inked a deal to become a value added distributor for Fujitsu's Eternus storage platform.

The agreement is an expansion of an existing partnership between the two companies, signed last year, which includes Fujitsu's Primergy server range.

Nick Verykios, Distribution Central managing director, says the opportunity and market demand for converged data solutions is growing and the partnership enhances the distributor's ability to deliver solutions that address that opportunity.

Distribution Central says the Eternus storage solutions will enable it to deliver a larger set of pre-defined and reference architecture solutions as part of its PC POD offerings, and make more DC PODs available.

The POD offerings integrate best-of-breed technology compents from the distributor's vendors into a pre-defined architecture to 'solve contemporary business problems'.

The Eternus solutions will be distributed in New Zealand by Distribution Central, as well as being used to enhance DC PODfactory and DC CloudSelect channel services.

“DC has been enabling its partners through our pre-defined and reference architecture multi-vendor solutions delivered through DC PODfactory and DC CloudSelect, but it made sense for us to include Eternus so that our partners can deploy the entire solution through DC,” Verykios says.

“In particular, Eternus addresses the reseller demand for the physical aspects of our DC PODfactory go-to-market strategy.”

Daniel Campbell, Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand channel manager, says the deal will enable Fujitsu to leverage Distribution Central's 'substantial expertise in the enterprise storage market to both enhance the support provided to our growing partner base and open new market opportunities'.
