Bitdefender is supporting Ferrari in deploying its GravityZone cybersecurity platform across the carmaker's infrastructure, a move intended to strengthen Ferrari's security posture.

The rollout spans a complex estate across engineering, manufacturing, racing operations and global business functions. In an environment with thousands of systems and workloads, centralised visibility and control are critical, executives from both companies said.

Cybersecurity is a growing concern for industrial groups and global brands as attacks increasingly target connected systems across corporate and operational environments. For Ferrari, that challenge is heightened by the scale of its operations and the visibility that comes with being one of the world's most closely watched automotive names.

"Centralized visibility and control are very important in a complex environment like Ferrari," said Luca Pierro, Head of Enterprise Cybersecurity at Ferrari.

"When you have thousands of systems and workloads to protect, you need a clear and unified view. Without that, it becomes more difficult to identify issues quickly and respond in a consistent way."

Bitdefender said GravityZone combines prevention, protection, detection, response and risk visibility in a single platform. Bringing those functions together can reduce fragmented security tools and give organisations a more consistent view of activity across their systems.

The approach reflects broader changes in the threat landscape. Security researchers have warned that attackers are making greater use of legitimate software tools and automation to move through networks with less chance of detection.

"GravityZone brings prevention, protection, detection, and response, along with risk visibility, into a single platform. This consolidation allows us to reduce fragmentation, standardize protection, and maintain a consistent view across systems," said Daniel Dărăban, Vice President of Products at Bitdefender.

Bitdefender's threat research team said attacks are becoming harder to spot because intruders increasingly rely on trusted applications already present in many environments. Artificial intelligence can also automate parts of an attack, allowing threats to spread more quickly and adapt in real time.

"What we're seeing is a shift in how attacks unfold," said Dragoș Gavriluț, Vice President of Threat Research at Bitdefender. "Attackers are increasingly abusing legitimate tools and trusted applications to move inside environments more quietly and quickly. When you combine that with AI-driven automation, attacks can scale faster and adapt in real time. That's why organizations need security that can identify suspicious behavior early and respond before an incident spreads."

Growing complexity

Ferrari said the rising number of connected systems and the speed of modern threats had made cyber defence more complex over the past year. It linked the GravityZone deployment to a need for stronger visibility and control, along with a more efficient way to support security operations.

"The attack surface is growing, environments are more connected, and threats are moving faster. Over the past year, cybersecurity has become more complex in ways that demand a more proactive, intelligence-driven approach to defense. What led us to the implementation of GravityZone was stronger visibility, stronger control, and a more efficient way to support security operations," said Pierro.

Ferrari said the relationship with Bitdefender is based not only on software deployment but also on trust in security partnerships. That is a common theme in large organisations that rely on outside suppliers to help monitor and defend critical systems.

"When it comes to cybersecurity, Bitdefender is a strategic partner to Ferrari, and our relationship is built on trust," said Pierro. "Trust is a critical foundation when protecting a complex organization. In today's threat landscape, trust goes beyond technology. It means having confidence in the people, the expertise, and the ability to respond effectively to evolving risks."
