Microsoft cloud has a silver lining for NZ's Umbrellar as it gains new competency
Tue, 25th Jul 2017
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Kiwi domain name and web hosting company Umbrellar has been elevated to Microsoft Silver Cloud Platform ranks, joining a ‘small percentage' of Kiwi partners to gain the competency.

Michael Foley, Umbrellar Cloud Hosting chief executive, says earning the competency is a milestone Umbrellar committed to on its path ‘to become a stronger enabler of New Zealand businesses leveraging the cloud to compete successfully in the digital economy'.

“The Silver Cloud Platform recognition from our partner Microsoft reflects our commitment to keeping our skills and capabilities in front of the digital transformation wave,” Foley says.

David Howden, Umbrella head of cloud, product and partners says the company is building its ‘maximum capability' and firming up its partnership with Microsoft by seeking accreditations needed to be a trusted partner.

“We aim to embed digital transformation right at the core of every customer conversation and tangibly demonstrate the power of the Microsoft ecosystem for business,” Howden says.

The Microsoft achievement follows Umbrellar's earlier win as Veeam's New Zealand Cloud and Service Provider of the Year at the vendor's ProPartner Awards.

Phil Goldie, Microsoft New Zealand OCP and SMC director, says by achieving the silver competency, Umbrellar has proven its commitment and expertise in specific technology areas.

“Umbrellar achieved this competency by demonstrating levels of spend, skill, knowledge and customer references confirming to Microsoft that the business does what they say they will,” Goldie says.

“From the customers' perspective, this achievement confirms Umbrellar as a credible Microsoft professional.
