Omnia acquires LiveTiles to reshape digital workplace solutions

Thu, 6th Jun 2024

LiveTiles, a global player in employee experience software, has been acquired by Swedish-based Omnia. The latter is a recognised vendor in the intranet-as-a-service space and is backed by Scandinavian software growth investor Monterro and the publicly listed Precio Fishbone. This substantial merger is poised to revolutionise the digital workplace solutions market, creating a dominant force worldwide.

David Vander, CEO of LiveTiles, expressed optimism about the acquisition, describing it as a "terrific outcome" for the company. "It enables us to achieve our vision to accelerate, consolidate and expand the growth horizons with tremendous new ownership, capitalisation, and as a private company," stated Vander.

The merger is expected to harness economies of scale, accelerate the development of AI solutions, and empower enterprises to maximise their employees' potential. Founded in 2014, LiveTiles has grown into a major intranet package solutions provider, boasting over 500 enterprise customers worldwide.

Vander elaborated on LiveTiles' internal efforts to right-size and better serve its clientele. "I am proud of the work we have done, and to attract partners of Monterro's and Omnia's calibre is a testament to the dedication of the team and the quality of our offering. We will be well placed in private ownership to realise the potential of the platform and scale globally," he added.

Monterro, a B2B software investor in Scandinavia, aims to turn software companies into market leaders and global players. With over EUR €1.3 billion in capital raised, including 25% internal capital, the firm has over 20 investments in its portfolio focused on the B2B SaaS software market.

Peter Larsson, Co-Founder of Monterro and Chairman of Omnia, highlighted the significance of this merger. "This marks an important milestone for both Omnia and LiveTiles. We see immense potential in their combined efforts to lead the future of the digital workplace solutions industry," he said. Larsson further praised LiveTiles' strong platform, global reach, and high-calibre customer base.

Upon completion of the merger, LiveTiles CEO David Vander will depart the company, and Omnia CEO Jesper Alfonsson will assume leadership of the newly combined entity. Alfonsson expressed enthusiasm about the future, stating, "We are very much looking forward to serving and supporting all the customers and partners of LiveTiles as we accelerate the business going forward."

Alfonsson also acknowledged the strengths of the LiveTiles platform, noting its world-class progress and impact. "This recapitalisation, privatisation, and acceleration will only serve to provide more value to our customers and the market and is a tremendous opportunity for all employees," he said. Additionally, he thanked David Vander for his leadership and commitment over the past 18 months. Both LiveTiles and Omnia are firmly committed to ensuring a smooth transition, with assurances of business continuity for their customers.
