Sahar Group selects Ramco for Black Hawk MRO digitisation
Ramco Systems has won a contract with Sahar Group to supply its aviation software suite for the aerospace services provider's maintenance, supply chain and finance operations as it expands activity around the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter platform.
Sahar Group has been scaling its commercial operations and moving into additional aviation segments, including Parts Manufacturer Approval work, Supplemental Type Certificates, and helicopter sales and leasing. As it manages more lines of business and greater operational complexity, it is implementing a single digital platform.
Under the agreement, Sahar Group will deploy Ramco Aviation Software as its core system across key functions. Ramco described the deal as an expansion of its footprint in Miami's aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul market, where a cluster of MRO providers and suppliers serves commercial and defence operators.
Scope of rollout
Ramco Aviation Software includes modules for Maintenance Planning, Component Maintenance, Supply Chain, MRO and Part Sales, Quality and Compliance, and Finance. Sahar Group plans to use the platform across the end-to-end lifecycle of its maintenance and related operations.
The software will also be used by frontline staff through Ramco Anywhere mobile applications for mechanics and warehouse teams. The package includes dashboards, HUBs and an electronic sign-off function (e-Signoff) that replaces paper-based maintenance sign-offs with digital records in the system.
Sahar Group said the platform supports a push for more standardised operations as it grows. It expects improved visibility and coordination across business units and sites-areas that can become harder to manage as maintenance activity rises and inventory flows broaden to include more parts types and suppliers.
Ramco said the platform is used by more than 24,000 users managing over 4,000 aircraft globally, and that more than 90 aviation organisations have adopted the product. The company markets the suite to airlines, third-party MROs, helicopter operators, defence organisations and newer aviation segments such as urban air mobility.
Industry backdrop
Helicopter MRO providers operate under stringent regulatory and customer requirements. Operators demand accurate configuration control and parts traceability, along with consistent maintenance planning and compliance records. Expanding into approvals work and modification programmes often adds documentation and quality management demands.
In the UH-60 Black Hawk ecosystem, sustainment work involves managing parts availability, tracking component serviceability, and capturing maintenance histories that inform airworthiness decisions. As fleets age and the cost of downtime rises, service providers have increasingly adopted systems that link planning, work execution, stores and financial controls.
Sahar Group's plans also point to diversification of revenue sources. Parts manufacturing approvals and certification work for modifications can open up different customer sets and contracting models. Helicopter sales and leasing introduces commercial processes that differ from traditional maintenance work, including asset management and deal administration.
Arnold Escobar, CEO of Sahar Group, said: "As part of our plan to scale and diversify our operations, we needed a platform that could support long-term growth without compromising operational discipline. Ramco Aviation Software stood out due to its established presence in the helicopter, defense, and component MRO spaces and its proven ability to deliver industry-ready digital capabilities. This investment enables us to modernize our operations in a way that directly enhances the experience we provide to our customers."
Ramco said the deployment aligns with the operational needs of helicopter and defence maintenance organisations, where fleets can have complex configurations and operators often require detailed reporting.
"Our selection by Sahar Group serves as further validation of Ramco's ability to support the complex needs of helicopter and defense MRO service providers. By combining deep aviation domain expertise with AI, we are helping organizations shift toward more predictive, data-driven maintenance services. We look forward to partnering with Sahar Group on their long-term ambitions through a platform built for scale, precision, and operational rigor-underpinned by our AI-driven vision for the future evolution of aviation MRO worldwide," said Manoj Kumar Singh, Chief Customer Officer - Aviation, Aerospace & Defence, Ramco Systems.
Ramco said its aviation suite is available on cloud infrastructure and includes voice-enabled user experience features, digital task cards, offline maintenance functionality and chatbots. It also highlighted tools designed to connect shopfloor activity with central planning and reporting, reducing re-entry of information across systems.
Sahar Group has not disclosed a rollout timeline or the expected number of users. The implementation will cover maintenance execution and inventory processes, alongside quality and finance functions, as the company broadens into additional aviation segments.
