Samsung unveils 'AI for All' integration vision at CES 2025
Samsung has officially announced its new "AI for All" vision at CES 2025, introducing plans to integrate artificial intelligence across its range of devices and services.
The company aims to establish AI not only as an everyday tool but one that seamlessly integrates into homes, business environments, and beyond. At the heart of this strategy is an emphasis on personalised user experiences through Home AI technology. According to Jong-Hee (JH) Han, Vice Chairman, CEO and Head of the Device eXperience Division at Samsung, this vision is accompanied by a commitment to human-centric innovation, enhancing how users interact with technology daily.
Vice Chairman Han commented, "I'm proud of how we have introduced new technologies and intelligence to the home, connected key devices and set the standard for the home of the future. This year at CES, we are reinforcing our commitment to delivering personalised experiences through our widespread implementation of AI and we will continue this journey of AI leadership in the home and beyond, not just for the next decade, but for the next century."
The presentation also highlighted Samsung's focus on security and privacy in the realm of connected homes, with innovations such as the Knox Matrix. This technology protects home appliances, mobile devices, and televisions, ensuring they work cooperatively to safeguard user data against potential threats. Samsung Knox Vault and Credential Sync were highlighted as key components enhancing user security by encrypting data exclusively on user devices.
Jonathan Gabrio, Head of Samsung Electronics America's Connected Experience Center, elaborated on the vision by stating that Home AI aims to adapt and evolve with users' needs, creating a personalised smart home experience. According to Gabrio, Home AI is designed for all types of households, and its security capabilities ensure that users' privacy remains protected.
Samsung's SmartThings platform remains integral to achieving these objectives by streamlining device connectivity and enabling adaptive responses based on user behaviours and environmental context. SmartThings' features like Ambient Sensing and the Bixby Voice assistant enhance user interaction and personalisation capabilities across Samsung's range of smart home products.
Health was another area of focus, with Samsung incorporating AI into its Samsung Health service to deliver health insights and enhance wellness management through devices like the Galaxy Watch. This integration aims to empower users to make informed health decisions by analysing their wellness data.
Beyond home use, Samsung is expanding AI applications into business settings with SmartThings Pro. This business-to-business solution is designed to provide AI-powered digital solutions for sectors such as retail, hospitality, and education. Additionally, Samsung's collaboration with automotive companies aims to enhance in-car experiences by applying AI to improve driver and passenger interaction.
Inhee Chung, Vice President of the Corporate Sustainability Center, highlighted Samsung's ongoing efforts to incorporate AI for societal benefits, stressing the company's initiatives to make technology more accessible and beneficial for diverse communities. Samsung's involvement in programmes like Solve for Tomorrow and its collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme underscore its dedication to leveraging technology for positive impact on a global scale.
Samsung's unveiling of their "AI for All" approach represents a significant step in integrating cutting-edge AI technologies across various domains to enhance user experience and redefine technology interaction.
