Veritas adds SaaS solutions for G Suite and Office 365
Veritas Technologies have released new solutions to enhance its integration with Google and Microsoft products.
The Data Protection and Governance for G Suite solution is an array of offerings that offer Google G Suite customers new ways to visualise, archive and recover their data.
The offerings are comprised of Veritas SaaS Backup, a hosted cloud-to-cloud backup solution for G Suite data protection and recovery, as well as Veritas Information Map and Veritas Enterprise Vault.cloud, solutions that make enable the analysis of file metadata within G Suite and execute compliance-driven retention and eDiscovery workflows for G Suite email.
"We are continuing to build on our partnership with Google Cloud by coupling Veritas' advanced data management and protection expertise with Google Cloud's extensive productivity and collaboration capabilities," says Veritas executive vice president and chief product officer Mike Palmer.
"Combined, we are providing customers with simple, flexible and powerful solutions that empower organisations to protect and govern their data across the G Suite platform.
It has also released Governance for Microsoft Office 365, a set of data protection and governance SaaS applications that aim to deliver enterprise-grade data management capabilities for analysing, discovering, and recovering Office 365 data wherever and whenever necessary.
"More and more organisations are embracing cloud-based office platforms like Microsoft Office 365 as a critical component of their IT strategy," Palmer says.
"With our new SaaS-based offerings we are enabling a new level of data management across Office 365 environments that will help customers ensure compliance and protection of their business data.
According to Gartner, "By 2021, more than 70% of business users will be substantially provisioned with cloud office capabilities.
As organisations begin to fully realise the numerous benefits associated with cloud office suite subscriptions, it is critical they also take steps to protect their data to help ensure it is easily recoverable in the event of a data loss.
Organisations should also ensure their files are preserved and searchable to comply with strict regulatory requirements.
According to IDC's Worldwide Semiannual Public Cloud Services Spending Guide, SaaS will be the largest cloud computing category in 2018, capturing nearly two-thirds of all public cloud spending this year.
