Avoz lands exclusive OpenAudio distribution in Australasia
Wed, 27th May 2026 (Today)
AVOZ has been appointed exclusive distributor for OpenAudio's multi-room audio products in Australia and New Zealand, taking responsibility for sales and support across both markets.
It will handle local distribution, technical support, dealer engagement and market development for the brand in residential and commercial projects. OpenAudio's line-up includes multi-zone streaming audio systems and a home cinema amplifier.
The deal expands AVOZ's portfolio in the specialist audiovisual market, where distributors are looking for products suited to both retrofit projects and new-build installations. OpenAudio has built its position around open-platform audio systems aimed at integrators, installers and end users seeking networked music streaming and smart home integration.
Among the products entering the market through AVOZ is the HOLO-WHAS Plus, a whole-home streaming amplifier. It offers 16 channels across eight zones, with eight individual streaming zones and three local inputs: HDMI, SPDIF and RCA.
Designed for multi-room audio installations in homes and commercial settings, the system supports integration with control systems including KNX and Home Assistant. It also works with Spotify, Qobuz and Tidal, and supports Apple AirPlay 2 and Android platforms.
Range rollout
The OpenAudio range includes six 8x8 multi-room audio systems priced from $2299 to $5299, as well as a 10.4.6 home cinema amplifier, broadening the offering beyond distributed audio.
AVOZ positioned the appointment as part of a wider push into premium audiovisual technology for specialist retailers, custom integrators and commercial AV partners. Demand for streaming audio and connected home entertainment systems has been a steady source of growth for suppliers serving the smart home and custom installation market.
OpenAudio's background extends beyond consumer and residential audio. In material shared by AVOZ, it said the company has roots in digital cinema standards work and immersive audio, and has supplied immersive audio processors and related equipment to cinema chains in the United States, South Korea, Europe and other international markets.
That history is likely to form part of its pitch to installers and resellers in Australia and New Zealand, particularly as cinema-derived audio brands increasingly look to bring professional technologies into the home. Dealer engagement will begin immediately across both countries.
Matt Walker outlined AVOZ's view of the brand's place in its line-up.
"OpenAudio represents the next generation of intelligent multi-room audio. Their commitment to open-platform innovation, sound quality, and system flexibility makes them an exciting addition to the AVOZ portfolio. We see enormous opportunity for the brand across Australia and New Zealand as customers increasingly look for scalable and premium whole-home audio experiences," said Matt Walker, Director, AVOZ.
Walker also highlighted the HOLO-WHAS Plus as a central product in the launch.
"The HOLO-WHAS Plus perfectly demonstrates what makes OpenAudio so compelling. It gives integrators the flexibility they want, the performance customers expect, and the scalability required for modern smart homes and commercial spaces. It's a truly future-focused multi-room audio solution," Walker said.
