FYI, this story is more than a year old

BayCom has been appointed the exclusive New Zealand reseller for Britain's Unify Business Solutions.

Unify provides IT and telecommunications solutions for a range of markets including retail, manufacturing, education and healthcare, but has a particularly strong niche in the prison services market.

The company currently provides its Unify Call Control System to the Auckland South Correctional Facility, and says it will work with Auckland-based BayCom to expand its prision base in New Zealand.

BayCom will work in conjunction with Unify for all sales, support and service activity in the region, including for Auckland South Correctional Facility.

Steve Bower, BayCom general manager says Unify has an innovative product ‘which can clearly benefit the prisons in the area'.

“By acting as a reseller we will be adding yet another bespoke product to our catalogue allowing us to provide tailor-made technology solutions for our clients,” Bower says.

Unify claims its in-cell technology translates into the reduction of violence, reduced rates of reoffending by providing prisoners with valuable contact with friends and family, and saves valuable time and money for individual facilities.

The vendor says in-cell phones remove flashpoints such as phone queues creating a reduction in violence in the prison environment, and its technology also includes high level speech analysis which can quickly identify calls of interest and provide valuable intelligence.

Unify says the appointment of BayCom as its local reseller will help support the company with its continued growth in Asia Pacific.
