blueAPACHE appoints Pat Devlin as General Manager

Sat, 3rd Aug 2024

blueAPACHE, an Australian managed services provider, has announced the appointment of Pat Devlin as General Manager, aiming to enhance its leadership team and fortify its strategic growth ambitions. This move comes following an 85 per cent organic growth in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) over the past five years. Devlin's new role is expected to build on this success, particularly as the company has heavily invested in upgrading its core platforms in connectivity, cloud, and managed services.

Pat Devlin brings nearly 30 years of experience in the global technology industry, having held significant leadership positions across Australia and New Zealand, with a strong focus on the start-up sector. His responsibilities at blueAPACHE will include managing the company's local operations while steering its international growth strategies.

"Pat Devlin’s appointment aligns seamlessly with our strategic vision as we reinforce our position as a leading managed services provider. Our global clients value the stability and reliability of a debt-free, Australian headquartered Managed Service Provider," said Chris Marshall, founder and Managing Director at blueAPACHE.

Marshall emphasised the advantages of blueAPACHE’s foundation in Australia, mentioning the stable political and economic environment that allows the company to sustainably support its international expansion efforts. "While local customers are seeking out Australian Sovereign Cloud providers, the depth of our capability here in Australia means our customers enjoy the financial predictability, platform stability, and reliability that’s been hard to find elsewhere," he said.

He added that supporting local businesses, including MSPs, contributes significantly to the Australian economy and fosters a collaborative business community. "Pat’s leadership will be crucial as we continue to excel both locally and internationally, marking our 26th year of excellence," Marshall noted.

In his previous role, Devlin led HPE Aruba's operations in Australia and New Zealand, where he significantly boosted business performance over a six-year tenure. He successfully navigated the challenges posed by the global pandemic and supply chain disruptions, ensuring growth and team cohesion. His approach, which prioritises relationships over transactions, focuses on achieving the best outcomes for customers.

Expressing his enthusiasm about the new role, Pat Devlin stated, "I am excited to join blueAPACHE as General Manager. This role represents a unique opportunity to leverage my experience in both global and local contexts. blueAPACHE's strong foundation and commitment to Australian Sovereign Cloud solutions align perfectly with my own values and vision. I look forward to driving growth and innovation while supporting our local community and expanding our international presence."

Devlin's passion for technology is paralleled by his commitment to fostering a culture of health and wellness in the workplace. Known for being an avid ice hockey player, he has implemented wellness activities, such as the "Running Meeting," which integrates fitness and business discussions around Sydney Harbour every Tuesday.

blueAPACHE expressed confidence that Devlin's visionary leadership, customer-centric approach, and innovative mindset will significantly advance the company's growth and success. Devlin's appointment is seen as marking a new chapter for the company, which celebrates 26 years of delivering managed services and technological solutions. His role is set to commence on 5 August 2024.
