Change of local leadership at Symantec
Thu, 31st May 2012
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Symantec has announced a change of leadership in the Pacific region, with experienced local tech exec Brenton Smith to take over from Craig Scroggie, who has been vice president & managing director of the region for Symantec since November 2007.

Smith has been overseeing Symantec’s cloud business across Asia Pacific for just under a year. Prior to that role, he was managing director and area manager, ANZ for CA Technologies.

Scroggie has departed the company to pursue other business interests. His LinkedIn profile lists a diverse range of board appointments, including positions as chairman of the Graduate School of Management Advisory Board at La Trobe University, and deputy chairman of the Board of Directors at the Foundation for IT Sustainability.

Bernard Kwok, senior vice president, APJ for Symantec, says Brenton brings 20 years of industry experience to the role.

"Most recently Brenton has been leading the highly successful Symantec.cloud business,” Kwok says, "which has helped thousands of customers right across the Asia Pacific and Japan markets move with confidence and ease to the cloud.”

The effective date of the appointment is pending completion of legal documentation, but should be known in the next few weeks.
