Datacom scoops up Intel Security partner awards

23 May 16

Datacom has taken out both ANZ and Asia Pacific awards at the vendor’s Annual Partner Summit in Bangkok.

Datacom was named Intel Security’s Managed Services Provider of the Year for ANZ, as well as its Overall #1 Managed Service Provider Partner for APAC.

Jonathan Ladd, Datacom Group chief executive, says the MSP security portfolio is a crucical part of Datacom’s solution set and the company is ‘delighted’ to receive the two awards from one of its key partners in the security space.

“We have a long and storied relationship with Intel Security and it’s great to see our security teams across ANZ being rewarded for their innovative work in a rapidly changing market,” Ladd says.

In praising Datacom for its winning trans-Tasman strategy, Joel Camissar, Intel Security director service provider, MSP and cloud for APAC, says success does not come overnight building a manage services business.

“It’s a complex exercise, developing SLAs, operating practices and then going on to win and grow new business,” Camissar says.

“This award comes on the back of a strategic long term investment by Datacom dating back several years to build a range of services on the Intel Security platform,” he says.

“We congratulate Datacom on this well-earned achievement.”

Camissar noted that Datacom has made a significant investment in training, surpassing any other Intel Security partners.

Datacom’s security operations centre capabilities are run across two locations in New Zealand, offering services such as security analytics and thread visibility across telecommunications-as-a-service for a number of Datacom’s public and private sector clients.

The latest awards continue a strong run for Datacom in the past year, with the company having picked up Cisco’s New Zealand Partner of the Year and Managed Services Partner of the Year ANZ, along with Dell’s Global Solution Win of the Year 2015 – Internet of Things; EMC’s Solution Provider Partner NZ award; Hitachi Data Systems Partner of the Year ANZ and Veeam’s ANZ Partner of the Year.
