Datacom scoops VMware award
Datacom’s shared infrastructure cloud solutions across New Zealand and Australia have won the firm VMware’s Asia Pacific Service Provider Partner of the Year award.
A Datacom update says that across New Zealand and Australia, it now has over 100 customers that include multiple government agencies.
Recent investments are said to include a $40 million data center in Auckland in 2009, and multi-million dollar investments in cloud service offerings in its three New Zealand data centers and the Sydney data center.
More data centers are also planned for Australian’s main cities.
Steve Matheson, Datacom Group Chief Operating Officer, beamed, “Partnering with VMware has been instrumental in allowing Datacom offer a solution that is reliable, secure and cost effective.
“Without virtualisation it would not be possible to create the economies of scale that allow a service provider such as Datacom to create the optimisation and economies of scale for our customers.”
