Fastly named Gartner’s top choice for Cloud WAAP for sixth year
Fastly, a global edge cloud platform, has maintained its status as a Gartner Peer Insights Customers' Choice for Cloud Web Application and API Protection (WAAP) for a sixth consecutive year. Uniquely, Fastly is the only vendor to have been recognised consistently over this period.
The recognition is based on reviews from verified enterprise IT professionals who have purchased, used and implemented a web application firewall (WAF). Fastly achieved an outstanding rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars in all categories, which includes Product Capabilities, Sales Experience, Deployment Experience, and Support Experience. Furthermore, Fastly received the highest overall rating of 4.9/5 based on 135 reviews, matching the top score with another vendor as of February 2024.
Fastly impressed users with its recommendation rate of 96% and was the exclusive vendor given the Customers' Choice in the WAAP - Large Enterprise category. The platform also received appreciation as a Gartner Peer Insights Midsize Enterprise Customers' Choice and was recognised for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In total, 92% of reviewers rated Fastly with five stars.
Various reviews elucidate the high satisfaction of clients spanning different industries. They are typically delivered as a service as a series of security modules that provide protection from a broad range of runtime attacks. These solutions offer protection from the top 10 web application security risks as defined by the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP), have automated threat detection and protection capabilities, and can counteract complex Layer 7 attacks targeted at web applications. Key features include web application firewall (WAF), bot management, distributed denial of service (DDoS) mitigation, and API protection.
In the 18-month period closing at the end of February 2024, Gartner Peer Insights published 1,170 reviews and ratings in the cloud WAAP market.
