Genetec sees global growth in access control & surveillance
Genetec has maintained its second position worldwide in the Omdia 2025 Access Global Report, demonstrating significant organic global market share gains in the access control software sector.
The Omdia report highlights that Genetec achieved the highest organic global market share gain in on-premises access control software during a period marked by mergers and acquisitions in the industry. This growth reflects the company's strategy of focusing on product innovation and steady development, as opposed to expanding through acquisitions and portfolio consolidation.
The report also notes Genetec's strong performance in Access Control as a Service (ACaaS) within the Americas region.
The Americas represents over 70% of the global market for access control software, and Genetec's rapid adoption of its Security Centre SaaS platform contributed to its status as one of the fastest growing vendors in the ACaaS segment there. The company has been delivering ACaaS solutions since 2017, enabling organisations to transition to cloud-based access control systems at their own pace.
Genetec maintained its number two market share position for access control software in the Americas, gained ground in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, and remained among the top ten providers in Asia Pacific. The report states that the company once again achieved the highest rate of organic growth in Asia Pacific, excluding China.

The strong organic growth achieved by Genetec demonstrates the appeal of its flexible deployment options, broad interoperability with third-party hardware, and unified security systems platform."
Genetec provides access control solutions that are designed to scale from single-site implementations to global deployments. Access control functionality within Genetec Security Centre and Security Centre SaaS can be integrated with video surveillance, intrusion detection, communications and other security systems into a single interface. In addition to the findings of the access control market analysis, Omdia also released its 2025 Video Surveillance & Analytics Report. The report confirms that Genetec has retained its first position globally in video surveillance software and is the top provider in the combined category of video surveillance software and Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS).
