Getty Images enhances AI tools for custom product visuals

Tue, 19th Nov 2024

Getty Images has introduced new features to its generative AI tools, enhancing customisation capabilities for product imagery.

Getty Images has announced the release of two new features, Product Image and Reference Image, within its generative AI tools – Generative AI by Getty Images and Generative AI by iStock. These features aim to streamline the creation of high-quality, customised product imagery for businesses, offering a professional-grade visual content solution.

The Product Image feature enables users to upload proprietary product images and generate custom backgrounds that blend lighting and shadows seamlessly. This results in ultra-realistic images that remain true to the original product. The feature also allows for the creation of backgrounds tailored to match brand aesthetics and campaign needs, thus enhancing content creation workflows.

The Reference Image feature, catering to the demand for customisation, permits users to upload images that help control colour palettes and compositions. This ensures that the generated visuals align with specific brand guidelines or mood boards, resulting in cohesive, on-brand content.

Grant Farhall, Chief Product Officer of Getty Images, commented on the launch: "Our customers are seeking efficiency in their creative process without sacrificing quality or taking on risk. With these new features, we're empowering businesses to create high-quality, custom visuals at scale." Farhall further noted, "By allowing users to seamlessly integrate their own product and reference images, we're giving them unprecedented control over the look and feel of their content, enabling them to produce commercially-safe, professional, brand-aligned visuals faster and more efficiently than ever before."

These new functionalities advance the accessibility of creative tools for professionals and brands by leveraging generative AI. They aim to enhance the control, accuracy, and quality of visual assets, facilitating faster and more efficient creative processes.
