Hitachi Vantara names Wendy Koh APAC Sales Vice President

Tue, 6th Jan 2026

Hitachi Vantara has appointed industry veteran Wendy Koh as Vice President of Sales for Asia Pacific, as the company targets growing demand for AI-driven data and hybrid cloud storage across the region.

The data storage, infrastructure and hybrid cloud management subsidiary of Hitachi has based Koh in Singapore. She will oversee technical sales strategy, regional sales teams, and customer and partner engagement across Asia Pacific.

Her remit includes growth for offerings such as Hitachi Vantara's Virtual Storage Platform One unified data platform. She will report to Adrian Johnson, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Americas and Asia Pacific.

The appointment comes as the Asia-Pacific data centre market's installed IT power capacity is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 22% through 2029. Analysts link that trend with rising adoption of AI workloads and hybrid cloud architectures.

Regional leadership

Koh brings more than three decades of experience in IT consulting, infrastructure and enterprise technology sales. She joins from Capgemini, where she served most recently as Executive Vice President for Southeast Asia.

Before Capgemini, she held senior roles at Cisco, Juniper and NetApp. Her responsibilities in those organisations covered networking, infrastructure, strategic partnerships, storage technologies and cloud-based software.

Hitachi Vantara said Koh will lead team development across Asia Pacific sales organisations. She will also oversee execution of regional initiatives aimed at increasing adoption of the company's data storage and hybrid cloud products.

Johnson said the company is aligning its regional leadership structure with changes in how enterprises manage data in AI and cloud environments.

"AI is fundamentally transforming enterprise data management, with the APAC data center market expected to grow at a 22% CAGR by 2029, driven by AI and cloud adoption," said Johnson, senior vice president and general manager, Americas and Asia Pacific, Hitachi Vantara. "It is imperative that we have the right leadership in place to meet this moment, and Wendy brings an unmatched wealth of expertise in understanding the complex digital challenges facing enterprises today. We are grateful to have her join the team and deliver meaningful outcomes for customers and partners as they manage the explosive growth of data powering the next generation of agentic and physical AI."

Track record in transformation

Hitachi Vantara highlighted Koh's background in technology strategy, infrastructure management, project management and partnership development. The company said she has worked across both government and private sector clients.

Her previous roles have involved large-scale digital transformation projects and multi-country engagements. Those projects spanned sectors that include telecommunications, financial services and the public sector.

The company said Koh brings experience in aligning sales organisations with consulting and services functions. It said that experience will support coordination between storage, infrastructure and cloud management offerings in Asia Pacific markets.

Koh said the Asia Pacific region is a focal point for data-led investment and technology rollouts.

"Asia Pacific is a powerhouse of innovation and growth, and I'm honored to lead Hitachi Vantara's next chapter in this dynamic region. By combining our deep industry expertise with cutting-edge data and hybrid cloud solutions, we're uniquely positioned to help our customers accelerate transformation and unlock new ROI. I look forward to working with our talented teams and partners to drive sustainable growth and deliver meaningful outcomes for our clients and communities," said Koh.

Board role

Alongside her new position at Hitachi Vantara, Koh serves as an independent, non-executive director at ASMPT. The Singapore-based company designs and manufactures machines and tools for the semiconductor and electronics assembly industries.

Hitachi Vantara operates within Hitachi's Digital Systems & Services activities. Its portfolio includes data storage systems, infrastructure platforms and hybrid cloud management software, as well as consulting and digital services.

The company has positioned its Virtual Storage Platform One as a unified data platform across on-premises and cloud environments. It aims that architecture at enterprises that are consolidating storage for AI, analytics and transaction workloads.

Hitachi has identified data infrastructure as one of its global growth priorities. Koh's appointment adds a new regional sales leader for Asia Pacific at a time when data centre and cloud investment in the region continues to rise.
