HSO, a global business transformation partner, has announced the acquisition of New Zealand-based Aware Group, which specialises in advanced Data and AI solutions. The acquisition aims to enhance HSO’s capabilities in delivering business-relevant AI solutions worldwide.

Brandon Hutcheson, CEO of Aware, stated, "As part of HSO, we will be able to accelerate our mission to create a worldwide impact with Data and AI. HSO's deep industry knowledge and expertise with Microsoft Dynamics 365 together with Aware's proven expertise in developing and deploying customised AI and data processing solutions position us as a leading global force in the rapidly evolving AI business landscape."

Aware, known for its work with machine learning and generative AI, has assisted numerous companies in exploring AI solutions. The company has a history of taking AI experiments from prototype to production, achieving significant operational cost savings and efficiency improvements for clients.

The inclusion of Aware’s expertise in using Copilot, Azure AI solutions, and ready-to-use AI models is expected to accelerate HSO's time-to-market and ensure the effective deployment of advanced AI-driven solutions. HSO aims to establish itself as a premier global Microsoft partner for business and AI transformation using the Microsoft Cloud.

Peter J. ter Maaten, Founder and CEO of HSO, commented, "We are excited to welcome Aware to HSO. This acquisition strategically increases HSO's Data and AI capabilities, furthering our ability to deliver emerging technology solutions to customers globally. With the addition, HSO's repository of AI use cases has been significantly expanded to help customers accelerate their AI transformation to enhance employee experiences, transform customer interactions, and reshape business processes and operational strategies."

Charles Lamanna, Corporate Vice President of Business and Industry Copilot at Microsoft, added, "HSO is a global leader in providing Microsoft business applications. By combining extensive business data with Aware’s expertise in configuring Copilot and Azure AI solutions, HSO is uniquely positioned to deliver significant productivity improvements to our customers."

Since Carlyle, a global investment firm, acquired a stake in HSO in 2019, the company has made six acquisitions, including Aware. This acquisition is part of HSO’s strategy to establish itself as a leading global Microsoft partner for business and AI transformation services using the Microsoft Cloud.

In New Zealand, the acquisition of Aware Group by HSO represents a significant development for the local tech industry. Brandon Hutcheson highlighted the potential impact, stating, "This strategic move not only strengthens HSO's global footprint but also brings significant advancements to New Zealand's burgeoning AI sector."

Aware Group has been a notable contributor to AI and data technologies for nearly a decade, with a strong presence in sectors such as healthcare, public services, and commercial enterprises. One of their significant projects involved developing an AI-driven solution for Techion Group Ltd. in precision farming. This solution helps combat livestock parasites, reducing chemical treatments and promoting sustainable farming practices.

The acquisition is anticipated to foster new opportunities for local talent, increase investments, and enhance New Zealand's reputation in technological innovation. As part of the global Microsoft partner network, the acquisition positions New Zealand to make significant contributions to global AI and data solutions.
