iGoDirect is expanding its cards and payments business in New Zealand following the appointment of Greg Duncan as Chief Executive Officer of the division across New Zealand and Australia.

Duncan will lead the next phase of growth in both markets, overseeing issuer and partner relationships as iGoDirect seeks to strengthen its position in rewards, payments and incentives.

iGoDirect has been building its presence in New Zealand since entering the market in 2025. It says it was the first business to offer web-to-wallet technology to the country's corporate rewards sector, replacing physical reward cards and removing the need for third-party apps to deliver incentives.

Its system allows companies to send a payment token by QR code, link or text message, enabling recipients to add it directly to an Apple or Google wallet and use it for payment immediately.

The expansion comes as New Zealand's corporate gift card market grows. Industry forecasts cited by iGoDirect project the sector will reach NZD $2.25 billion by 2028, driven by demand for digital products, continued eCommerce growth, and higher corporate spending on employee recognition and client engagement tools.

Duncan joins with experience across financial services, cards, payments, customer acquisition and strategic partnerships. His remit covers both New Zealand and Australia at a time when companies across the sector are competing to digitise reward and payout programmes for corporate clients.

"iGoDirect has a strong reputation for creating value for clients through disruptive, market-leading payments and rewards solutions across payouts, incentive management, and corporate expense solutions. My focus is on working with the iGo team and our partners to drive growth by strengthening our market position and helping clients achieve their strategic objectives in a rapidly evolving payments landscape," said Greg Duncan, Chief Executive Officer, iGoDirect's cards and payments business across New Zealand and Australia.

New Zealand is one part of a wider business that has operated in Australia's rewards sector for more than 25 years. iGoDirect works with more than 2,000 businesses across Australia and New Zealand, including Lion, Vega Earna, Ford Motor Company, Crestline and iNova in New Zealand.

Regional push

The company's offering spans gift and prepaid cards, consumer promotions, loyalty programmes and employee benefits. It also holds Visa Principal Member status in New Zealand and Australia, allowing it to manage services from card issuing to campaign execution.

This gives iGoDirect a direct route into a market where employers and brands are seeking faster ways to issue incentives, reimbursements and promotional payouts. Digital wallet-based delivery has become a key area of competition, particularly as businesses move away from paper vouchers and posted cards.

Pat Dalton, Founder and Group Managing Director of iGoDirect, said the appointment is intended to strengthen the company's standing with local clients.

"It's important that we strengthen our position as a trusted partner to the New Zealand businesses we service. Greg's appointment reflects our continued investment in the cards and payments sector and a commitment to support brands with customer-centric solutions that deliver measurable commercial outcomes," said Dalton.

Founded in 1999, iGoDirect has focused on rewards and payments products for businesses managing loyalty, promotions and staff incentives through digital channels. Its latest expansion underlines the importance of New Zealand to that strategy as the market for corporate gift cards and incentive products continues to grow.
