Ingram Micro and McAfee expand partnership
McAfee and Ingram Micro have today announced an expansion of their partnership, widening the scope for their combined efforts to 'transform' McAfee's channel programme and providing access to McAfee products across Ingram Micro's distribution network.
It follows the recent launch of McAfee's SaaS portfolio on Ingram Micro's Cloud Marketplace late last year, with the announcement heralding an expansion on McAfee's footprint on Ingram Micro's network of eCommerce platforms throughout 2021.
"At McAfee, we are focused on empowering our partners to effectively address dynamic customer needs by providing industry leading security solutions, a strong eco-system, and programs that enhance profitability," says McAfee senior vice president of global enterprise channels, OEM - strategic alliance, Kathleen Curry.
"Our expanded relationship with Ingram Micro will help build on the transformation that McAfee has been driving and enable our organisations to reach a larger set of customers around the world in need of security protection.
Curry says both companies recognise the opportunity and impact of cloud transformation happening within the channel landscape. Additionally, Ingram Micro is expanding its services capabilities with McAfee to provide migration services to move from legacy security technology to McAfee MVISION products.
"We are proud to play an increasingly important role in McAfee's global channel strategy and applaud its efforts to increase its channel partner engagement and enablement," says Ingram Micro executive director for global partner enablement Scott Zahl.
"Together with McAfee, we are providing our mutual channel partners with access to one of the world's most trusted cybersecurity solution portfolios and award-winning channel programs.
"Add to the mix our security expertise and best-in-class resources including our regional Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplaces and global Centers of Excellence, and there's never been a better time to work with Ingram Micro and McAfee.
Zahl says that as a result of the expanded partnership, channel partners will benefit in the following ways:
- McAfee and Ingram Micro will be able to engage with and strengthen global channel partner relationships more effectively
- It will now be easier for channel partners to purchase McAfee products and solutions through Ingram Micro
- The expanded relationship enables Ingram Micro's large service organisations with security tools and solutions from McAfee
- Partners will be able to see McAfee products in Ingram Micro Centers of Excellence around the world.
The news of the expanded partnership comes following an announcement late last year that Ingram Micro would be sold to Platinum Equity for US$7.2 billion.
Platinum Equity chairman and CEO Tom Gores believes that Ingram Micro will become a cornerstone investment in the company's portfolio.
"We have the resources and the experience to help the company pursue an aggressive agenda of growth and transformation.
