Kevin Sellers joins Avalara as executive VP & CMO

Avalara has announced the appointment of Kevin Sellers as its new Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer.

The company, known for its tax compliance automation software, anticipates that Sellers' comprehensive background in global marketing will significantly enhance its market position.

Kevin Sellers brings over 25 years of experience in global marketing to his new role at Avalara. His previous positions include Chief Marketing Officer at Ping Identity and Avnet, and a lengthy tenure at Intel where he held various roles in global marketing and investor relations. Sellers holds both a bachelor's degree in finance and an MBA from Brigham Young University.

In his new position, Sellers will oversee all marketing aspects at Avalara. These responsibilities include driving demand generation, digital marketing, brand identity, partner marketing, product marketing, prospect marketing, and corporate communications. This comprehensive role is expected to further Avalara's efforts to maintain and expand its influence in the global market for tax compliance automation.

The appointment of Sellers is the latest in a series of leadership changes at Avalara. In April 2024, the company announced Ross Tennenbaum as its new President. Tennenbaum is tasked with driving company-wide improvements and ensuring the success of Avalara's global customer base.

Avalara's tax compliance software solutions cater to over 41,000 business and government customers across more than 75 countries. The company provides a range of automation tools designed to simplify and enhance the accuracy of tax compliance processes. These solutions include tax calculations, document management, tax return filing, and access to tax content, all integrated across leading ecommerce, ERP, and billing systems through more than 1,200 partnerships.

Kevin Sellers' extensive expertise is anticipated to play a crucial role in Avalara's continued expansion and adaptability within the tax compliance industry.
