Kingston's XS1000 wins 2024 Red Dot Design Award
Kingston Technology announced that its XS1000 External SSD has won the 2024 Red Dot Award for Product Design.
The Red Dot Design Award, established in 1955, is among the world's most prestigious design competitions, receiving more than 20,000 annual submissions from approximately 60 countries worldwide.
The XS1000 is presented as a reliable file backup solution to ensure important documents, cherished memories, and media files are always accessible.
The device weighs less than 29 grams and fits in the palm of one's hand, emphasising its portability for those with an on-the-go lifestyle. Despite its compact size, the XS1000 offers read speeds up to 1,050MB/s and storage capacities up to 2TB, providing ample space for storing numerous photos, videos, and files.

According to Kingston, the XS1000 is designed for optimal performance when used with a USB 3.2 Gen 2 host device.
While the drive's total capacity is listed as up to 2TB, users should be aware that some of this capacity is utilised for formatting and other functions, making the actual available storage slightly less than the listed capacity.
