Myriota unveils AssetHawk satellite IoT asset tracker

Wed, 11th Feb 2026

Myriota has launched AssetHawk, a satellite-connected asset tracker designed for long-life monitoring of equipment and goods beyond the reach of terrestrial mobile networks.

The Adelaide-based space technology business uses its HyperPulse 5G Non-Terrestrial Network connectivity in the device. It is targeting transport and logistics, mining and resources, agriculture, and other remote and industrial settings.

AssetHawk is a ready-to-use tracker with a rugged enclosure, designed for rapid installation and deployment in the field. The unit installs in minutes and integrates with third-party visualisation and analytics platforms.

Design and deployment

The device has a compact, low-profile form factor and multiple mounting options, including magnetic mounting. Myriota says this suits rotating fleets and temporary assets where equipment changes frequently and trackers need to be moved between items.

An IP68-rated enclosure is intended for harsh conditions, including dust, impact, and operation in extreme temperatures. The rating also covers submersion, which Myriota says is relevant for industrial sites and outdoor deployments.

AssetHawk supports tracking for trailers, containers, pallets, vehicles, and unpowered assets across large geographic areas. Myriota is positioning it for organisations that need visibility across long routes and remote operations where cellular coverage is intermittent or absent.

Network and scale

AssetHawk operates on a standards-based 3GPP Release 17 architecture, according to Myriota. The platform uses private data paths as part of its security model, which the company says helps protect against unauthorised access or interference.

Ben Cade, Myriota's chief executive officer, said scaling tracking programmes often proves harder than initial trials.

"Most tracking projects fail not in the lab, but at scale - when battery swaps, coverage gaps and complex integrations erode the business case. AssetHawk is designed to flip that equation. By delivering global coverage, predictable multi-year life and straightforward integration in a single device, we're giving solution providers and systems integrators a way to scale tracking profitably, even for assets that were previously too remote or low-value to justify a tracker."

Myriota says the tracker is aimed at operators that need to verify delivery milestones, reduce asset loss, and improve utilisation as deployments grow. It also links the product to fleet management and supply chain visibility where devices must remain operational for long periods with limited human intervention.

Battery and firmware

For long-term deployments, AssetHawk is designed to reduce maintenance time. Myriota says it can deliver up to 10 years of battery life using two AA batteries, depending on configuration and usage patterns.

The tracker includes firmware designed to adjust behaviour based on movement. Myriota says it automatically increases the frequency of location updates when it detects motion, improving the timeliness of tracking information while managing power consumption.

Security and supply chain

AssetHawk was developed on a TAA-compliant supply chain, according to Myriota. The company points to its operational experience in commercial satellite networks and says the product aligns with requirements from government and enterprise customers that prioritise resilience and trust.

The security claims focus on data integrity and protection from interference, which Myriota says are built into the platform through its network and data transport approach.

Sensors and availability

AssetHawk will soon be available with optional Bluetooth Low Energy, which Myriota says will allow it to capture condition data from Bluetooth sensors, including temperature and vibration.

AssetHawk is available now in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, Brazil, and Mexico, according to Myriota. More markets are planned.

Customers and partners can also use an AssetHawk QuickStart Kit, which includes mounting accessories and direct API integration guides.

Myriota has built a satellite IoT connectivity business over the past decade. It says it has an expanding satellite constellation, more than 170 patents, and more than US$100 million in funding. Its connectivity and hardware are used in sectors including agriculture, utilities, logistics, mining, environmental monitoring, and defence.
